Key Functions:

- Social Protection: It implements social protection programs and policies to support vulnerable groups, including workers in the informal sector, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and migrant workers. This includes initiatives such as social insurance schemes, pension programs, and support for informal sector workers.
- Occupational Health and Safety: The ministry promotes occupational health and safety standards to protect workers from workplace hazards, accidents, and occupational diseases. It conducts inspections, enforces safety regulations, and provides training and awareness-raising on workplace safety practices.
- International Labor Relations: It represents Nigeria in international labor organizations, conventions, and forums to promote cooperation, exchange best practices, and advocate for the rights and interests of Nigerian workers on the global stage.
